In 2019 according to UNICEF, the number of countries experiencing conflict is the highest it has been since the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989, with dozens of violent armed conflicts killing and maiming children and forcing them from their homes. Conflicts around the world are lasting longer, causing more bloodshed and claiming more young lives.
WFPICCS supports the International Society for Social Pediatrics’ Call for Action to Protect and Mitigate Harm to Children Impacted by Armed Conflict.
We invite and encourage the global #PedsICU community, our members and stakeholders to sign this petition and work collaboratively to address some of the petition’s objectives mentioned under Acute and chronic health care for children injured in combat zones.
