James Lind Alliance Paediatric Sepsis Survey Launched

The Paediatric Adaptive Sepsis Platform Trial (PASSPORT) research group is undertaking a James Lind Alliance (JLA) paediatric sepsis priority setting project (PSP). We are inviting PREDICT Clinicians to participate by completing our Survey.

The survey will identify the most important unanswered research questions about paediatric sepsis — from the perspectives of patients, parents, carers and all health care professionals (nursing, medical, allied health, pharmacy, pre-hospital, general practice)

We’re using the James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) framework and our scope will include infants and children from 1 week of life to 18 years of life. Our PSP is a global initiative focusing on both high and low middle income countries.

Please note: A formal ethics application and approval is NOT required for this type of consultation work.

The PSP will use surveys to determine a Top 10 list of key research priorities in sepsis care for children and inform the Paediatric Adaptive Sepsis Platform Trial (PASSPORT). By ensuring the trial answers the questions that matter most, we can accelerate progress and improve outcomes for critically ill children worldwide.

Survey Request: We’d love support from WFPICCS members clinicians to promote Survey 1 to ensure we receive a diverse response from across the globe.

The survey will be open for the next 6-8 weeks until 24th October 2025, maybe longer.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

1. Take the survey yourself— share your perspective as a health care professional, or researcher. LINK HERE: https://www.passport-platform.org/

2. Share this invitation widely— help us reach families, clinicians, and communities in your networks to do this survey themselves.

3. Use our toolkit — ready-to-use posts, images, and messages are available for advertising the survey in external groups.
