Natalia Andrea Henao Murillo holds a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management from the European Business School, IFEE, in Oleiros, Spain (2018), completed as a scholarship holder of the Carolina Foundation. A specialist in Clinical Nursing with an emphasis on Care for Children in Critical Condition, Natalia graduated from the University of Antioquia, where she is also a GNLI Fellow.
As a dedicated nurse, Natalia is a member of several professional organizations, including the Colombian Association of Intensive Care (AMCI), the Antioquia Maternal and Perinatal Nursing Network, the Border Investigation Network Colombia Peru, and the Nursing Now chapter in Antioquia. Additionally, she is part of the nursing group of the World Federation of Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care Societies (WFPICCS).
With extensive experience in the field, Natalia has served as a field nurse with Doctors Without Borders and the International Red Cross, providing palliative assistance with the Colombian Red Cross. She has coordinated emergency and disaster care in intensive care units for 25 years, inaugurating and directing seven neonatal, pediatric, and adult intensive care units across various cities in Colombia. Natalia also advises health institutions in the area of critical care.
A prolific researcher, Natalia has published several articles in the areas of pediatrics, patient safety, and quality of care. Currently, she is a Professor at the University of Antioquia in the area of critical care and serves as a clinical specialist for Latin America at Opsyka Medical.
