Dr. James Diviney is a UK Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine (PICM) Grid trainee approaching the completion of his training. Coming from a paediatric training background, Dr. Diviney has developed broad and highly specialised experience within some of the country’s leading intensive care units.
He has worked in both the Paediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Units (PICU and CICU) at Great Ormond Street Hospital, contributing to nationally commissioned services including ECMO, ventricular assist devices (VAD), transplantation, and metabolic medicine. He has also held a clinical role at St Mary’s PICU. In the year he applied, Dr. Diviney ranked first nationally in the highly competitive PICM Grid application process.
Dr. Diviney completed his paediatric training across London and has a strong academic portfolio, with six scientific publications covering topics such as perinatal brain injury, childhood cancers, educational outcomes, and urine collection methods. He has presented his work internationally, including on paediatric cardiac arrest and peripheral noradrenaline infusions, and is the author of a book chapter on the principles of paediatric intensive care.
A graduate of the University of Cambridge, Dr. Diviney achieved a double first-class honours degree in Physiology and Neuroscience and graduated with distinction in the MB BChir. He has also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at UCL with merit and was awarded MRCPCH in 2016.
