Lauren R. Sorce PhD, RN, CPNP-AC/PC, FCCM, FAAN is the Founders Board Nurse Scientist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Department of Nursing. Dr. Sorce is the Senior Scientist for the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Lurie Children’s Hospital where she oversees all clinical research in Pediatric Critical Care, organized the research portfolio, runs a Research Think Tank and mentors new researchers of all professions. She is actively engaged in multicenter trials as well as does her own research. Dr. Sorce is currently studying the composition of the nasopharyngeal microbiome and the association with severity of illness in children and sleep measurement in critically ill children.

 

Dr. Sorce is faculty in the Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. In her clinical role, she has practiced as a pediatric critical care nurse practitioner for over 25 years and continues to practice in pediatric critical care. She is an active mentor for multiprofessional team members and clinical researchers. Dr. Sorce is the current Immediate Past President of the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
