Michael Pienaar is a paediatric intensivist working at Pelonomi Tertiary and Universitas Academic Hospital PICUs. He holds a PhD in paediatrics from the University of the Free State where he is an associate professor. His clinical fields of interest include triage, resource limited critical care, paediatric trauma, perioperative cardiac care and burns. His research field is in applied machine learning in critical care.
